I'm sitting here at my computer updating a web site and out of the perifery to my left, I see motion from outside my window.  That window faces the road in front of my house. 

Turkeys are plentiful in Western Loudoun County.  So, for that matter, are Deer,

Groundhogs, Squirrels, birds of many types, and more.

IS THIS A NEW HOME READY FOR DRYWALL?  OR, IS IT A WORK OF ART?  PERHAPS IT'S BOTH.

We had a pre-drywall walkthrough inspection in a home in Waterford Virginia yesterday.  Only one item to be addressed, no two.  The first one is easy.  The buyers want the kitchen vegetable sink at the far end of the island from the cooktop range.  It's a Feng Shui matter and it's not open to debate.  The other item is a demand of the Buyer's aGent, that would be me.  I'm insisting that the builder install a battery back-up for the sump pump.  I don't want to add it to the options yet.  I want to wait until the house has electricity and see if there is water.  Then we can ask the builder to install this safety feature at the builder's expense. 

I am of the opinion, from experience, that when you live in a house with a partially inground basement that has a sump pump, a battary back-up is a must.  In fact, following our storm of last Wednesday, that community was without electricity for 3 days.  Further, I'm familiar with the water patterns, in that area and this home site is not high.  Without electricity for a day or two. . . . ?

Even in the unfinished state, this home is quite beautiful.  Angles add interest but the beauty in the construction phase is often the symetry of the designs.
