CARPETS & RUGS in LEESBURG VIRGINIA - MY FAVORITE RUG SHOP is A & M Carpet & Rugs
I love rugs. Not carpets, rugs. I love Persian Rugs. I love Chinese Rugs. I love Mexican rugs. I love Scandinavian rugs. I just plain love rugs. The day I closed on my home on February 28, 2006, while waiting for the lender's package, I found a wonderful rug store in Leesburg. I parked in that parking lot because there was a coffee shop where I could read for an hour or so waiting for my loan docs to arrive. However, next door was the A & M Carpet & Rugs. I had an adventure in rug purchases.
I love shopping local businesses and services. My visit to A & M Carpet & Rugs that day was an adventure. I've had several adventures there since. I believe I have 8 or 9 rugs from that lovely shop in Leesburg.

On that day on my first visit, I purchased a fantastic rug for my bedroom and a more colorful rug for the foyer. I love red accents and the rug for the foyer offers just enough red to complement the red Chinese Chair.
A subdued rug for the Master Bedroom does not overpower but pulls the room together beautifully.
I love the Foyer and the rug that compliments the Chinese chair says "Welcome to Lenn's home".
Rugs of all types, colors, designs and origins - "decisions, decisions". "AH, THAT ONE!
What I was shopping for today was a colorful rug to put in front of the cook center in my Kitchen. Eureka! I found it!
Perfect for an area rug on hardwood flooring in the Kitchen. I love the colors.
Another rug from A & M Carpet & Rugs in what would be a breakfast nook, but I made into a "cafe".
This is a very large woven area run in the Family Room. Moving to the Rec Room, a Contemporary rug seemed to fit the need. The A & M Carpet & Rug shop has rugs, wall-to-wall carpet, tiles, hardwoods, tiles for back splashes. I need a back splash in my Kitchen. I'll have to visit A & M again soon.

Interesting to see such different design and architecture. What a great selection. Some of their rugs are bigger than my entire house almost.
What a great selection to choose from. Looks like they have something for everyone. I too love Rugs they add accent to any room.
I love rugs too! Yours are beautiful and I especially LOVE this one!
In fact today I am cleaning a Southwestern one I'm using for a staging . . . yeah rugs are cool. :)
Lenn- You've become a champion of Localism posts. Great incentive for getting out there and taking a closer look at what's going on in our own towns.
Lenn --- this is a great Localism post --- makes me want to visit A&M Carpet and Rugs ---thanks for sharing.
I just love that red Chinese chair. What character! And you've set it off nicely with the rug.
Marianne. Thanks. I love that chair. I often visit an antique dealer in Frederick who has a warehouse of Chinese beauties. I have them in just about every room in my home.
Liz. That's a bit of a trip from SC, but come on.
Marilyn. I've loved Localism from the very first day. It brought a lovely buyer in AZ to me today. I'll sell them a home in my county and they'll be new neighbors.
Candice. Me too. The rugs in my house tie every room together. I should have taken the Master bath. It's fabulous.
Pat. Me too. These rugs don't scream out, they just tie the room together beautifully.
Susie. The run in my Family Room is, indeed, bigger than some homes. I've lived in condos smaller.
Lenn--You have wonderful taste...nice write up on your favorite rug shop too!
Teri. Thanks. It was fun.
Lenn- I love your wood floors and down here, I would never cover them up. But I understand you need more warmth up there. :) I love you kitchen rug coloring, perfect feng shui colors for a kitchen. You are a great spokesperson for the A & M Carpet and rug company:)
Katerina. I love wood flooring too. In fact, my entire first floor, with the exception of the master bath is wood. The wood gives the house a warm appearance, but I love the area rugs. There's a lot of wall to wall around here, but I love the wood.
I love this, Lenn. 'Wish A&M Carpetingand rug company was a little closer to Crofton. I only have one room with wood flooring - my dining room /kitchen - and right after I got the perfect rug, my dog chewed up a corner of it. I was (and still am) the one growling over that.
I love rugs, have them everywhere I have hardwood and even in some rooms that have carpet. It is funny, you wrote this, yesterday I had to follow my husband to drop off his car to get his oil changed. It is across the street from a store I brought many rugs from.
It is now boarded up and vacant with windows broken. So sad, this is in Ypsilanti.I was going to shoot a picture but just couldn't.
I liked the store because they carried larger than 8 x 10, which are too small for under kitchen and formal dining room tables.
So go ahead take a shot of that bathroom for us.
I'd be doing a lot of window shopping there! But I do need some rugs!
Lenn, I love rugs too, with a passion. I have an amazing rug in my family room that is exquisite and has some sortof middle eastern hieroglyphics that I just wish I could understand. I have been told there is a story in the rug but don't know where to begin to find out more. I am glad to see your passion as well for rugs. You've inspired me to find out more about the story told in my favorite rug in my home!
Hi Lenn
Sounds like it a great place to business.
Good luck and success.
Lou Ludwig
Hi Lenn-You have a beautiful home and I am also a fan of rugs and have several thruout my downstairs. This is a wonderful localism post. :-)
Lenn,
I love rugs as well. I lived in the middle east for for a total of seven years and collected some beautiful rugs as well as traveled to Hong Kong, China and Nepal and brought a few nice rugs home from those countries too. Yours look so beautiful and they do shine on hardwoods. Nice idea for blogging, I may have to do the same for a rug store here in Salt Lake where I have mine cleaned.
Lenn, Nice Localism post for A & M Carpeting. Your home looks nice and warm and your furnishings look beautiful on those area rugs. You are correct the area rugs really tie it all together. Beautiful home!
Hello Lenn. I've been in and out of the Rain, and just came across your NEW updated picture and wanted to make a comment on it! I like it - you look modern now! Regarding your post... good plug for A & M! I too like to accent with red. Have a super weekend!
Diane
Diane. Thanks. Stick around and you'll have fun in the rain.
Dona. Thanks. My home is very comfortable and folks are always welcome.
Debbie. Absolutely. Give your local merchants and servicers a mention.
Pat. Thanks. I've always thought that a room begins with the floor and sort of works it's way up.
Lou. It surely is. Nice friendly merchants are a benefit to all communities.
Dan. Goodness, post a photo of your rug. It might get the eye of an expert.
Steve. Rugs are the first thing I purchased for my new home.
Margaret. Been there, when I had the patience to have pets. No more.
Missy. Done. Look at the bottom of the post. Thanks.
I love a good oriental rug. They really look terrific with larger rooms that have hardwood flooring. I have them in most of the rooms in my house. Nice job with your feature on this business Lenn.
Bill G. Thanks. Oriental rugs on hardwood are a classic beauty. I love them too.
Awesome...thanks!
Lenn,
I've been away from AR for awhile so your new photo threw me for a loop!
Lenn, Since I love rugs, I enjoyed reading this localism post. I am looking for two small rugs for my kitchen...looks like it is time to go rug shopping.
Rebecca. Ah, the kitchen. I have 3 lovelies in my kitchen. Love them.
Lenn, area rugs is like art on flooring divides the space you can have an inexpensive rugs mixed with high end furnishings I do it ... but I hunt of those styles. Love your new picture
Lynn. Thanks. Art on the floor is indeed what a beautiful rug is. I spend a lot of time selecting the color/desgns, etc.
